Kings One Win From ANAVET Title

Defenseman Joel Kot (pictured) had 1g-3a-4p, leading the Dauphin Kings to a 5-3 victory over La Ronge in Game 4 of the Anavet Cup, and now take a commanding 3-1 series lead, after their 3rd straight win.

Kot's a Moose Jaw, SK product... I lived there for a year, and while I did, he was patrolling the blue line for the "AAA" Midget Warriors, and I'm not at all surprised to see the former Red Deer Rebel having such success in Junior. He's got 10 points in the Anavet Cup series.

Troy Hunter, Pat Kozyra, Shane Luke and Dallas Drysdale also scored for Dauphin. Travis Eggum opened the scoring midway through the first for La Ronge, while Doug Lindensmith and Leo Lecoursiere also found the net for the Wolves.

Shots were 42-20 for Dauphin. Joe Caligiuri played for a second start game in the Dauphin crease, the first time either team went with the same goalie in back to back games. Adam Bartko played for La Ronge, as the Ice Wolves continued their rotation.

Kings can wrap up the ANAVET Cup, and enter the RBC Cup through the front door with another win Thursday in Game 5 on home ice. A La Ronge win would send the series back to La Ronge on Saturday.
