Hi Craig,
Thought I'd let you know that Luke has recovered sufficiently from round 2 so his doctors have let him out for the next week or so. He will be at the 2 games in Yorkton - likely sitting up in the mezzanine. May be a chance to talk to him if you wish. Let him or us know.
Thanks for everything you've done.
-Brian
P.S.... the next comment on this blog for Luke will be #100... Click on Luke's picture to the right to leave a comment... let's see it pass 100 before game time! Comment #97 was from a guy you may have heard of... Jarret Stoll of the LA Kings.

You might be watching a future NHLer this week.
La Ronge captain Dustin Stevenson, who had an NCAA Division I scholarship with St. Lawerence has signed a 3-year contract with the Washington Capitals.
Story Here

The SJHL website describes Stevenson, the 20-year-old from Gull Lake, SK, as the "Chris Pronger of the SJHL." After getting my first good look at him over the weekend, I'd say that's bang-on. 6'5", 220 lbs., great offensively, and mean and nasty in his own end, racking up well over 100 PIM's during the regular season.
He logs 30+ minutes for the Ice Wolves and is scary when he's running the powerplay.

SJHL PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Adam Moar, Yorkton Terriers

SJHL DEFENSEMAN OF THE WEEK:
Robert Monfore, La Ronge Ice Wolves
1990 D Robert Monfore (Wasilla AK) had points in each of the first two games of the Credit Union Cup final as he picked up some of the offensive slack left when Mike Alexander went down to injury. Monfore drew an assist in game one and then scored his team’s first goal in a game two victory.Runners-up: Blaine Tendler, Yorkton; Dustin Stevenson, La Ronge; Kurt Leedahl, Kindersley.
SJHL GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK:
Joel Danyluk, La Ronge Ice Wolves
1990 G Joel Danyluk (Yorkton SK) made a surprise start in game two of the Credit Union Cup final and turned away 36-of-37 shots in recording a victory against his former team. Coincidentally, Danyluk and Adam Moar both end up winning weekly awards on the same week. The two were traded for each other on December 1st.
Runner-up: Devin Peters, Yorkton.
