Hours after Crosby scored in overtime, giving Canada a gold medal win over the United States at the Olympics, Reimer hammered home a snap shot in the extra frame, lifting the Swan Valley Stampeders to a 2-1 OT win over Portage.
The Stampeders now lead the Best-of-Seven series 2-0.
Phil Letkeman opened the scoring on a first period powerplay goal for Portage, and after out-shooting the Stampeders 10-2 in the opening frame, the Terriers held a 1-0 lead.
Second period, the Stamps out-shot the Terriers 24-4, no that's not a typo, and got just a goal to show for it, a Ryan Marshall one-time from the point, also on the powerplay, squaring it 1-1 after 40.
Third period was scoreless, and for the first time on GX94 in these playoffs, we went to overtime, and Myles Stevens spotted Reimer in the high slot, and he wasted no time ripping one over the blocker of Jason Kasdorf, and ended up at the bottom of a pile of h
is Stampeder teammates.MJHL Commissioner Kim Davis presented Stamps' Coach Dwayne Kirkup with the MJHL Coach of the Year Award prior to opening face-off.
Kirkup, in his rookie season as an MJHL Coach, led the Stamps to a 34-win regular season.
