The Yorkton Terriers got a goal from each of their four lines, and 32 saves from Devin Peters ina a 4-2 win over the league-leading Weyburn Red Wings to take a 1-0 series lead in their Sherwood Conference Semi on Friday.
Riley Paterson, Kevin Stringfellow, Jordan Menke and Troy Smukowich (SH) did the scoring, while Peters out-played SJHL Goalie of the Year A.J. Whiffen in Game 1. Whiffen (pictured below), made 20/24 saves, while Peters went 32/34. Drew George and Davis Brown scored for the Red Wings, who went 2/7 on the PP, while giving up a SHG. Yorkton was 0/4.
Game 2 of the series goes tonight (SAT), 7:30 at FAA.
