Wayway Ends Season, Regel Ends Jr Career in Style

In his final Junior 'A' Hockey game, Wayway's Ryan Regel (pictured) scored a hat trick, ending the campaign with a team-high 27 goals.

Fellow 20-year-old Dan Kelsey also scored, his 16th of the year, as the Wolverines swept their final weekend of the season in OCN with a 4-2 win on Saturday.

Captain Niko Grose is the only other graduating 20-year-old, and was held off the scoresheet in his final game, but still ran away with the team scoring lead, putting up 65 points (22g-43a) in 58 games.

Brett Gagnon got the final win of the year in goal for the Wolveirnes, and after going 9-29-0-1 in 2009, the Wolverines turned the ship around, with a record of 14-8-0-1 since January 1st.

Best wishes to Grose, Regel and Kelsey as they pursue further hockey and/or careers this off-season. We'll recap the season with Wayway Coach Barry Butler on Tuesday's Coach's Show at 10:40.
