Terriers Win Big / Mils Drop Second Straight

The Yorkton Terriers scored three times in each period of a 9-4 win over the Estevan Bruins on Wednesday for their second win in a row.

The line of Kevin Stringfellow (1g-2a), Rylan McDonnell (1g-2a) and Brent Struble (1g-1a) combined for 3 goals and 8 points, while Cody Zubko and Troy Smukowich both had a goal and 2 assists on the night as well.

Game Summary

The Terriers host Notre Dame tomorrow (FRI), before finishing the regular season Saturday in Weyburn.

-----------------------

Melville lost 3-1 in Battleford, but aside from a pair of costly turnovers in the first period, you could argue the Mils were the better team on the night.

The Millionaires out-shot the Stars 16-9 in the first frame, and came out of it down 2-0. Final shots on goal were 37-26 Melville, but Graham Hildebrand had his 'A' game all night, stopping 36 for the Stars.

Derek Wasylyshen was the only Millionaire to beat the 18-year-old Hildebrand, and his first SJHL goal came near the midway point of the third period.

During the 9-game winning streak for Melville, their powerplay went 30%, but was 0-for-6 last night, which included a 1:28 5-on-3 early in the game.

The Mils travel to Humboldt Saturday, and wrap up their regular season Tuesday on home ice against Estevan.

Of the two sticks in the middle, which one do you think belongs to 5'8" Logan Herauf, and which one to 6'0" Cody Gross?
