(Matt Kinnunen named SJHL Player of the Week; Jordan Reeve top D-man)A pair of Melville Millionaires picked up weekly SJHL awards. Melville's on a 6-game winning streak, which included three games last week, during which time, 20-year-old F Matt Kinnunen racked up 6g-1a-7p. He finished the week with a hat trick and one assist in a 7-4 win over Yorkton on Saturday. Kinnunen has 10 points (7g-3a) during a 5 game point streak, and has vaulted his season totals to 24g-21a-45p in 51 games. His 24 goals equals his previous career total, scoring 14 as a rookie in 2007-08, and 10 last season.
Runners up included Melville teammates Michael Jordan (2g-3a-5p) and Mark Owen (2g-4a-6p).
Defenseman Jordan Reeve put up 7 assists in three games last week, including a pair of 3-assist performances... a 9-2 win in Estevan on Tuesday, and the 7-4 win vs Yorkton Saturday night. Reeve's battled injuries all year, infact the last two seasons, but his 'A' game is starting to re-emerge that we saw from him as a rookie in '07-'08, now with 16-points in 22 games.
Melville goes for their 7th straight win when they host the first place Weyburn Red Wings Wednesday night.
