Just putting the final touches on some prep for the weekend roadie to Kindersley (Eston) and Battleford with the streaking Millionaires. A few tidbits from Monday:
OCN 2 @ Swan Valley 3
- Marshall, Peel, Stevens score for Swan.
- With Myles Stevens' goal, he's now tied for 3rd on the all-time Stampeder list with 224 career points with Trevor Derlago. Stevens is just 2 points back of Tyler Czuba for 2nd, with 2 games remaining. No one's catching Ian Lowe's 307 pts anytime soon!
- Portage also beat Selkirk 3-1, their 9th straight win, so they stay 2 pts up on Swan with 2 games left. If the two teams end tied, Swan would get 2nd spot. They're tied in head-to-head wins, and they have more overall wins. However it's tough to argue the Terriers have the inside track at this point. If they win once in their last 2 (vs Winkler, @ Blues), they'd force Swan to win both at home against Neepawa (FRI) and in Dauphin (SAT). Of course if Portage wins their last 2, they clinch regardless.
Dauphin 5 @ Wayway 3
- Last home game of the year for the Wolverines, who only have a weekend double-dip in OCN remaining. Justin Christian, Dan Kelsey and Ryan Regel scored for the Wolverines, who managed just 17 shots on Joe Caligiuri.
