From Battleford

9:30 am: (Leaving Farrell Agencies Arena) Thought I was running late, getting to Farrell Agencies Arena just before 9:00, so didn't stop for food/coffee. Got through another training camp on Madden 08 on PSP, while keeping an eye on "We Are Marshall" and "Bourne Ultimatum." Thankfully bus driver Bob needed a coffee in Dafoe, and I was able to grab a sandwich at the much-travelled 24/7 gas station. Closed my eyes but never slept, which is unfortunate... didn't get much shut-eye last night either. After Saskatoon, I finally pulled out my game notes and studied the North Star roster. They've got no less than SEVEN very good forwards, and some rookies also producing a lot of offense for Ken Pearson's bunch. Haven't seen the Stars this year, so I'm hoping the hourish drive for Stoon to NB familiarized myself enough. I made sure to remember who's #'s 12, 14, 19, 16, 10, 9, and 25, because I'll be saying those guys' names a lot tonight I'm sure.

2:30: Rolled into North Battleford... couldn't check into our rooms yet... lunch wasn't till 3:00. Scarfed down a Caeser Salad and Fettucini Alfredo at BP's. But after sitting across from Riley Rice's Lasagna I kinda wish I'd gotten that. Oh well, we're only eating there 4 more times, I'm sure I'll get it eventually.

3:30: Checked into Gold Eagle Lodge. Probably my favourite Hotel in the league. Nipawin's Evergreen Resort's a close second. My roomies are Ass't Coach Trent Cassan and Trainer Riley Rice. Three dudes, three beds. Just so you know.

Hoping to add some pics from the game tonight, provided there's a solid internet connection at the rink, which I believe there is. Voice of the North Stars Dan O'Connor joins me in the booth tonight... we're on the air at 7:20, puck drops at 7:30 to get this roadie underway.

Thanks for stoppin' by! The blog should reach 99,000 hits tonight, and with any luck should pass the 100,000 mark before the weekend's done. We'll have to throw a big "shin-dig" when that happens! Maybe send a GX94 Coffee Mug the winner's way... if I could tell who's reading.... and I can't.

You know I read your blog a few times a day and would love a GX94 coffee mug. I'll probably be reader 100,000 anyway.

I like when you blog the road trips. Makes me wish I was doing the same thing. Good luck tonight.
