Van De Velde Back in Wayway

Here's a GI-NOR-MOUS boost for an offensively-challenged Wayway Wolverines club.

The WHL's Everett Silvertips has re-assigned 1990 F Paul Van de Velde.

Here's the story.

Van de Velde was held pointless in 10 games this season with the 'Tips, after recording 4g-9a-13p in 52 games last season.

In my opinion, this instantly gets Wayway right back in the playoff race in the MJHL Sherwood.

Let's not forget, as a 17-year-old in 2007-08, Van De Velde was over a point-per-game player in Junior 'A', with 23-points in 19-games in Wayway, after being hurt for much of the season.

Paul could either play centre with Niko Grose and Ryan Regel and give the Wolverines a SCARY top unit, or, they could keep Ryan Duhaime up on the top line and build another line around Van De Velde. Good news for Wayway!
