A frustrating, and almost shocking end to the Yorkton Regional Raider Gridders' season last night in Regina... the Raiders falling 13-4 to the Luther Lions.
The Raiders led 3-0 at the half, and 4-0 mid-way through the fourth quarter, before a bad snap went over the head of quarterback Jorgio Karapanos' head, into the Raider Endzone, and a Luther Defensive lineman ended up with the ball to make it 6-4.
The Lions would add a late TD to make the final 13-4.
"We had to protect the ball and we didn't," lamented Raider Coach Roby Sharpe. "The game of football can be frustrating sometimes, and tonight it was. It was a mistake we made and it cost us the game, that's the bottom line. Our defense played so well, it was unbelievable. It was a shutout up until that point. Our defense did it all. And then we couldn't get anything going, it's very frustrating."
Raider RB Riley Hackman finished his final HS game with 89 yards rushing on 15 carries.
After talking to Coach Sharpe, I had a quick chat with the longest-serving graduating Raider, OL Logan Wilk.
