15-year-old defenseman Damon Severson (Melville) and 16-year-old goaltender Zach Rakochy (Canora) were both in Melville Millionaires' main camp, and both were also part of the Fall Prospects Baseball series in Brandon this past weekend.
Rakochy's 16-year-old team came in second, going 2-2-and-2 against Alberta and Manitoba... while Severson's 15-year-old club won their category with a 4-and-2 record.
Yorkton's Evan Wasylynuik also coached that winning team and says both local products showed well.
Severson's too young to play Junior this season, but expects to suit up for the SMAAAHL's Yorkton Harvest, while Rakochy appears to have the inside track on the Millionaires' backup goalie job.
Severson (Kelowna) and Rakochy (Red Deer) are both protected by WHL clubs.
