Mils, Terriers Post Big W's

(Pre Game Warm Up. Humboldt's top two in the league for broadcast locations for sure)

The Melville Millionaires handed the Humboldt Broncos their first regulation loss in nearly two months, as they went to EPA last night and beat the Broncos 5-3.

The Broncos hadn't lost in regulation since December 9th when they were beaten again by the Millionaires 9-1. They'd gone 17-0-2 since.

It was 5-1 at one point... with Levi Lind scoring twice, and Casey Dion, Austin Krahenbil and Aaron Decorby scoring the others.

Special teams were the story, with the Mils going 4-for-6 on the powerplay, while Humboldt was 2-for-9.

Travis Bosch made 32 saves on 35 Humboldt shots... while the Mils chased Andrew Bodnarchuk, scoring on him 5 times on 18 shots. Mathieu Larochelle stopped all 12 he faced in relief.

The Mils return home tonight for a big Sherwood Conference matchup against the Kindersley Klippers. Puck drops at 7:30 at the vault.

Travis Coghill scored 46 seconds into overtime to give the Yorkton Terriers the extra point in a 2-1 (OT) win over Kindersley. The win puts the Terriers 3 points up on the Klippers for third spot.

Jordan Zalba also scored for Yorkton, and Devin Peters made 27 saves in the win.

The Terriers are off tonight, but host the Klippers again tomorrow (SUN) at 6:00. Kindersley's in Melville tonight.

In the MJHL, the Swan Valley Stampeders are now officially eliminated from playoff contention after a 5-3 home ice loss to Beausejour. Kyle Harty had the hat trick for the Blades, while Myles Stevens, Carter Selinger and Darcy Riddell tallied for Swan.

The Wayway Wolverines fell 6-3 in Portage. The big positive for the Wolves was Paul Marcoux, who just days after being involved in a vehicle rollover, scored his 30th of the season in the loss. Preston McLeod and Ryan Regel also scored.
