Strong First Period Enough as Mils Clip Wings

The Melville Millionaires continue to have the Weyburn Red Wings' number, beating the Wings for the third straight time this season 2-1 last (TUE) night.

All the scoring was done in the first period. Daniel Hope scored an unassisted goal 1:25 into the game... the Wings answered on the powerplay at 16:15 when Preston Shupe tipped in a point shot, before Matt Kinnunen scored a powerplay goal of his own on a 5-on-3 with 47 seconds left in the period.

With the win the Mils improve to 18-3-2... Travis Bosch got the win with a 28 save performance... Tanner Erickson was almost as good, stopping 24 of the 26 he faced.

Melville's kept the Red Wings to just one goal in each of their first three meetings.

The Mils go for the home-and-home sweep tonight (WED) when they host Weyburn at 7:30
