In the first rematch of last year's Sherwood Conference final, the Melville Millionaires piled it on with a 7-1 win over the Kindersley Klippers on home ice Thursday night.
Daniel Hope had a hat trick, all in the second period, Matt Kinnunen had 2 goals, giving him 3 in his last 2 games. Shane Stanicky had a goal (SH) and an assists, making it 5 goals in his last 3 for him. Kale Dolinksi had 3 assists, while Tyler Murray and Michael Jordan each had 2. Also scoring for the Mils was rookie Jeff Peel. It was the Virden, MB product's first SJHL goal and point (you can hear his post game comments below).
Special teams told the story, with the Millionaires going 3-for-6 on the powerplay and also scoring a short-handed goal. The Klippers went 0-for-9.
Travis Bosch got the win making 28 saves on 29 shots, while Ryan Nieszner took the loss stopping 36 of the 43 shots he faced.
The two teams meet up again tomorrow (SAT) night, 7:30 at the Stadium.
JEFF PEEL SCORES FIRST SJHL GOAL
(The distracting noise you hear during his first answer is Mils' Trainer Dave Melnychuk trying to mess him up. Very mature Melly!)
