Wednesday Goings-On / Terrier Game Change

The Leader Post's Rob Vanstone gave me, and the station a nice plug in his column in yesterday's (TUE) paper. He was mentioning NewsTalk 980 in Regina debuted a noon sports cast this week. And went on to say GX94 in Yorkton has the longest noon cast in the listening area, 7 minutes from 12:08 to 12:15 where Craig Stein covers all the bases. That's a long time, and I admit there are days I'm struggling to fill it, but some days I have to shorten it to fit everything too! I try to fill that 7 minutes with as much local as possible, but it's inevitable you need some national (MLB, NFL, NHL, etc) to fill that kind of time.

Ego check: This blog usually gets a little better than 200 hits per day during the week, and a little under 200 on the weekends, and I'm happy with that, I thought if I got 100 per day that'd be great. Know what Voice of the Riders Rod Pedersen got yesterday after breaking the story about the Calgary Stampeders' alleged abuse of officials after last week's game? NEARLY FIVE THOUSAND! 4,865 to be exact. The guy averages well over 2,000 a day and is closing in on ONE MILLION.

Here's what's up today...

SJHL (2)
Notre Dame Hounds @ Yorkton Terriers 7:30
Humboldt Broncos @ Kindersley Klippers 7:00

Saskatchewan Midget "AAA" Hockey League
Swift Current Legionnaires @ Regina Pat Canadians 8:00

WHL (4)
Kootenay Ice @ Regina Pats 7:00
Tri-City Americans @ Moose Jaw Warriors 7:00

Other notes....

**The Thanksgiving Monday game between the Yorkton Terriers and Nipawin Hawks at Farrell Agencies Arena at 2:00 has been moved to Wednesday, October 22nd at 7:30. I don't think too many people will complain about that. It is Thanksgiving, and, oh ya, the Riders play the Stamps at 2:30.

**The East Central 9-Man Quarter-Final game between the Canora Cougars and Sacred Heart Saints originally set for Friday has been moved to tomorrow (THU). The winner faces Swan Valley in the semi final. Fort Qu'Appelle and Esterhazy will still meet on Friday. Canora Coach Darryl Dickson was our guest on the East Central 9-Man report. I'll post the conversation on the High School Football page soon if it's not there already.
