Harvest Double Stars 4-2

Brendon Fornwald had 2 goals to lead the Yorkton Harvest over the Battlefords Stars 4-2 Sunday afternoon. Stuart Holland continued his hot start with a couple assists, while Landon Minto and Airik Price also scored for the Harvest.

Harvest Coach Graham Garrett felt they only played 40 minutes, but it was enough this time.

"At the start of the year, I think all teams are dealing with that type of inconsistency and focus. A lot of new players, guys who haven't played at this level before, and it takes a while to figure out what you have to do to play 60 minutes at this level each any every game."

Down 2-1 in the third, the Harvest went down short-handed, and Price and Fornwald scored on the same penalty kill, 40 seconds apart to tie the game and take the lead.

"Yesterday they scored two shorties, and today we scored two shorties," said Garrett. "Teams are still trying to work themselves into what their systems are going to be and guys are still nervous in some situations, I think they were and so were we, and those are things coaches have to try and shore up as the season goes on."

Goaltender Kale Thomson made 28 saves on 30 shots for the win.
