From High School, right on up to the CFL, there's a lot a big games on the grid iron today.
At 2:00, the 2-and-2 YRHS Raider Gridders play their home opener against the Luther Lions after 4 straight games away from home.
In the East Central 9-Man Conference, it's a battle of 4-and-0 teams to round out the regular season as the Melville Cobras travel to face the Swan Valley Tigers at 4:30 (MB Time). The winner will finish first and be in the driver's seat for a league title. It's quite the matchup on paper. The league's most potent offense in Swan Valley against the league's most smothering defense in Melville. Check out the High School Football link in the top right corner and click on EC 9-Man for some stats.
And of course, CFL double header tonight. HOPING the slumping Argos wake up and do the Riders a favour against B.C., but I doubt it. The late game has the Riders home to the Calgary Stampeders, 8:00 at Mosaic Stadium. We've got the Pre Game Show at 7:30 on GX94.
It's beautiful weather today, if you can slip out of work, definitely check out the Raider game @ Century Field in Yorkton or the Cobras and Tigers in Swan River. I'll be at the Yorkton game, hope to see you there. If not, I should be back in time to have a full recap including interviews on the 5:00 Sports, and I'll likely post a recap here too.
Happy Weekend!
