Alumni Check: Sammartino / Vigier

One of my first posts on this blog was an interview with former Terrier goalie Lynden Sammartino about him going to the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology in Calgary. I went to the SAIT website and didn't see him, but thanks to Facebook, I found out what he's doing.... looks pretty cool!

hey bud hows everything going in y-town? i actually opted out of going to sait. I got a job offer working for the Canucks goalie coach i couldn't turn down! im Working as an Assistant Regional Manager for BC running goalie schools and camps and private lessons out here. So far its been great teaching i'm really enjoying it i am trying to plan maybe a camp sometime in yorkton if we could generated enough interest. I am also trying to plan a trip to come visit i will let you know when that is. Anyways how have you been bud hows the SJ looking this year? - Lynden Sammartino

Last year's MJHL Rookie of the Year and former Swan Valley Stampeder Stephane Vigier looks like he's adjusting to the USHL just fine. In 5 games, Vigier leads the Sioux City Musketeers in scoring, with 1-goal and 8-assists. The Musketeers are 2-2-1, and have scored 20 goals in 5 games... Vigier's been a part of 9 of them. The Notre Dame, MB product had 37 goals and 86 points last season and was a treat to watch. He's expected to spend 2 seasons in Sioux City, before his scholarship at Northern Michigan kicks in at the start of the 2010-11 season.
