A little lazy posting the last couple days. I was in Regina at the Rider game for most of the day yesterday... just got back from Neepawa. Add to that I'm already getting my first sore throat of the year. It's one of those "hurts to swallow but doesn't hurt to talk" sore throats. Hopefully it stays that way and leaves quickly. Here's a quick recap:
The Wayway Wolverines are still without a regulation loss after a 5-1 win in Neepawa last night.
Jason Bowles and Paul Marcoux led the way offensively with 3 points each. Bowles scored twice and set up another. Marcoux had a pair of assists to go along with his goal.
Defenseman Cody Danychuk opened the scoring and added a helper... while rookie defenseman Steven Duda also found the net.
Jayme Janzen got the start and won his first game as a Wolverine, stopping 26 of the 27 shots he faced.
The Wolverines' powerplay stayed hot, going 1-for-3... the Natives were 0-for-4, their only goal coming even-strength off the stick of Eli Halcrow.
With the 5-1 win, the Wolverines improve to 2-0-1-and-0 on the season, with a home game against the Beausejour Blades tomorrow night.
