Show #20 - February 10, 2011

Players of the Month are featured this week, including thoughts from Dauphin goalie Brett Willows and Defenseman Brendan Kotyk. Player of the Week Jory Geddes of the Selkirk Steelers also joins, while playoff races and the weekly CJHL Top 20 rankings are also part of this week's show.



Show #19 - February 3, 2011

Several teams are on fire, while others have taken a turn in the other direction. We'll hear from two coaches who have two of the hottest teams in the league since January 1st. Wayway Wolverines Coach/GM Barry Butler comments about his goaltender, MJHL Player of the Week Ryan Benitez, while John Marks tells us what has his Winkler Flyers firing on all cylinders.

The latest Player of the Week Patrick Henderson of the Winnipeg Blues joins the program, while OCN Coach/GM Scott McMillan talks about one of his players, who was a runner-up for the weekly honour. CJHL Top 20 rankings are also part of the show, as are the Winkler Flyers, who are getting set for their first annual Hall of Fame Induction night.

OCN Blizzard Head Coach/GM Scott McMillan gives his thoughts on the current All-Star Game format, and what it's like to be right in the middle of a Sherwood Division that's still very much up for grabs. We also recap the January 19th All-Star Game, and hear from Swan Valley Stampeders' Coach Dwayne Kirkup about his 2-year contract extension.

Winnipeg Saints Coach David Anning talks about getting set for the World Under-17's, which start December 29th in Winnipeg and Portage. OCN goalie Matt Krahn is the Player of the Week for the second time, and makes his second appearance on the show.

A recap of the CJHL Prospects Game in Dauphin with league Commissioner Kim Davis, after 6 MJHL'ers ended up playing in the 2-day event. Neepawa Natives' F Anthony Nobili, the Player of the Week also joins us.

Dauphin's Kyle Johnson lit it up after coming to the Kings from Dauphin and is this week's Player of the Week. The four MJHLers about to take part in the December 7th & 8th CJHL Prospects Event in Dauphin also stop by. They are G Jason Kasdorf of the Portage Terriers, Dauphin F Mitch Van Teeling, Winnipeg Saints F Shane Gingera and OCN F T.J. Constant.

A pair of brothers join us this week. Steinbach's Tanner Harms was named Player of the Week, while his 16 year old brother Brendan of the Portage Terriers is off to the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge in December/January.

As the World Junior 'A' Challenge continues in Penticton, BC... the MJHL Standings, especially in the Sherwood, continue to tighten up. We talk to the latest Player of the Week Wendel Vye, Neepawa Natives' goaltender, about his journey to the MJHL, and the Natives' hot streak.

Cruz also talks about Blizzard Goalie Matt Krahn, who's also got a spot with Team West. Player of the week Bryn Chyzyk of the Dauphin Kings joins us off the top as well.

Selkirk forward Joel Ridgeway joins the program, after being named MJHL Player of the Week. And, after hosting the 2010 RBC Cup... the Community of Dauphin is pondering making a bid to host yet another prestigious Junior 'A' event three years from now.

The MJHL announced the host site for the 2010/11 All-Star game. Commissioner Kim Davis tells us why the Swan Valley Stampeders, and community of Swan River will get the honour in January. OCN Goaltender Matt Krahn joins us to talk about his Player of the Week award, and the Blizzard's blazing start. And as the 5 MJHL hopefuls who tried out for the World Junior 'A' Challenge await their fate, an MJHL Official knows he'll be in Penticton next month.

The MJHL Showcase weekend takes centre stage this week. Swan Valley goaltender Dylan Wells talks about his Player of the Week honour. Also on the show are a look at the weekly CJHL Top 20 rankings, and a look at upcoming MJHL broadcasts.



Show #3 - September 30, 2010

The first player of the week is Winkler's Chapen Leblond, and he talks with CKMW's Matt Friesen. Swan Valley's Ryan Marshall was one of five MJHLers to take part in World Junior 'A' Challenge tryouts in Penticton. He tells us about the camp, and flying from Penticton to Dauphin after the tryouts, getting there with minutes to spare, and suiting up. Eddie Friesen, now with the Dauphin Kings, gives his thoughts on switching teams, after a 3-team deal with Dauphin, Neepawa and Estevan.

talks about NCI's coverage of the MJHL. Five MJHLers are off to World Jr 'A' tryouts in Penticton, and the CJHL is out with their first rankings of the regular season.

David Anning goes from Ass't Coach/Marketing Director in Dauphin, to Head Coach & General Manager for the Winnipeg Saints, the same team he played for. The Winnipeg Blues (MTS I-Plex) and Portage Terriers (PCU Centre) are moving into new rinks this season. CFRY's Jeff Dyck, the Voice of the Terriers, paints us a picture of the PCU Centre in Portage.
